Marna Borgstrom started her profession at Yale New Haven Hospital more than 40 years earlier. Her diverse functions have actually taken her from a post-graduate fellowship, to numerous personnel and management functions, to her promo in 1994 to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Yale New Haven Hospital. In 2005, she presumed the position of CEO of Yale New Haven Hospital and President & CEO of Yale New Haven Health and now acts as the CEO of both companies. Ms. Borgstrom chairs the boards of the Healthcare Institute and the Coalition to Protect America’s Healthcare and is the previous chair of Vizient, a Dallas, Texas-based healthcare business. She serves on a number of other boards consisting of the Connecticut Hospital Association and New Haven Promise. Ms. Borgstrom has actually been the recipient of numerous awards acknowledging her advocacy and neighborhood participation consisting of the AHA Grassroots Champion Award, the Anti-Defamation League Torch of Liberty Award, The Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership Award and Business New Haven Business Person of the Year. She was granted an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters by Quinnipiac University and Sacred Heart University and a Doctor of Business Administration by the University of New Haven. Ms. Borgstrom got her bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and was granted a Master’s of Public Health by Yale School of Public Health. She and her partner, Eric, have 2 grown kids.
