Secretary of State Blinken averts concern on penalizing China for COVID handling

Secretary of State Antony Blinken averted questions about whether the U.S. would look for retaliatory actions versus China for its handling of the coronavirus break out throughout an interview on CNN’s “ State of the Union” Sunday, instead saying that the focus must be on avoiding another pandemic in the future.

What they’re stating: “I believe the problem for us is to make sure that we do whatever possible to prevent another pandemic, even as we’re working through this one, or at the extremely least, to make sure that we can alleviate in much more efficient ways any damage done if something happens in the future,” Blinken stated.

Flashback: During his verification hearing in January, Blinken stated the that China had deceived the world with concerns to the coronavirus break out, per the New York Times
